Test 1A: DRB Blank Screen
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect DRB from Data Link Connector (DLC). Measure resistance between ground and DLC connector terminal No. 5 (ground circuit; Black-Tan wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black-Tan wire.
- Measure resistance between ground and DLC connector terminal No. 4 (ground circuit; Black-Light Blue wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black-Light Blue wire.
- Measure voltage between ground and DLC connector terminal No. 16 (fused B+ circuit; Pink-White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Pink-White wire.
- Substitute an known good DRB cable. If DRB is operational, replace original DRB cable. If DRB is not operational, go to next step.
- Substitute an known good DRB tester. If DRB is operational, repair original DRB tester. If DRB is not operational, test is complete.
