Test 6A: Loss Of Ignition Run Only (Active Code)
NOTE:
Perform TEST VER-1A: AIR BAG VERIFICATION TEST
after all repairs. Each time a connector is disconnected, inspect it to ensure it is in good condition. Always focus on circuit being tested. Dirt, water and corrosion, are most common problems in connectors.
- Ensure ignition is off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 5 located in fuse block under right side of instrument panel. If fuse is open (blown), go to next step. If fuse is okay, reinstall fuse and go to step 4 .
- Measure resistance between ground and component side of fuse No. 5 (Dark Blue-Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace fuse.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes before proceeding. Disconnect ACM connector. Measure resistance between ground and ACM connector terminal No. 20 (Dark Blue-Yellow wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground on Dark Blue-Yellow wire between fuse block and ACM harness connector and replace fuse. If resistance is more than 5 ohms and no potential causes remain, replace ACM and fuse.
- Turn ignition on, engine off. Measure voltage between ground and ignition switch output side of fuse No. 5 (Black-Orange wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, reinstall fuse and go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open or low voltage condition on ignition switch output run circuit (Black-Orange wire) between ignition switch and fuse block.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes before proceeding. Disconnect ACM connector. Turn ignition on, then reconnect battery. Measure voltage between ground and ACM connector terminal No. 20 (Dark Blue-Yellow wire). See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts and no potential causes remain, replace ACM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Dark Blue-Yellow wire between ACM harness connector and fuse block.
