Driver-Side Air Bag Trim Cover & Horn Switch: Removal
- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
- Remove driver-side air bag module. See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE . Remove plastic horn switch feed wire retainers from studs on air bag housing. Remove 4 nuts securing upper and lower trim cover retainers to studs on air bag housing and remove trim cover retainers. See Figure .
- Remove horn switch ground wire eyelet from upper air bag housing stud. Disengage 4 trim cover locking blocks from lip around outside edge of air bag housing and remove housing from cover.
