Rear Brake Caliper & Brake Pads: Installation

NOTE: If new caliper mounting bolts are being installed or if reason for repair is to correct a drag or pull, check caliper bolt length. Correct caliper bolt shank length is 2.61-2.66" (66.4-67.6 mm) and thread length is 0.87" (22 mm). If caliper mounting bolts are too long they will contact inboard pad and cause a partial apply condition.
  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Apply a light coat of multipurpose grease to caliper sliding surfaces. Lubricate caliper mounting bolts and bushings with silicone grease.
  2. Install caliper mounting bolts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Apply brakes until brake pedal is firm. Check brake fluid level.
