Thermovalve (2.0L Federal & Canada)

  1. Mark vacuum hoses for installation reference. Disconnect vacuum hoses from thermovalve. Connect a hand-held vacuum pump to one thermovalve fitting and apply vacuum.
  2. With engine coolant temperature less than 122°F (50°C), vacuum should not hold. With engine coolant temperature greater than 176°F (80°C), vacuum should hold. Replace thermovalve if it does not function as described.
