Test 32A - Correcting Red Brake Warning Lamp That Stays On

  1. Ensure parking brake is fully released. If parking brake is not fully released, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A. If parking brake is fully released, go to next step.
  2. Check brake fluid level. If fluid level is low, inspect for leaks and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A. If fluid level is okay, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect brake fluid level switch connector No. 1. See Figure. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Turn ignition on. If Red brake warning light is no longer on, replace brake fluid level switch No. 1. Perform TEST VER-1A. If warning light is still on, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect parking brake switch connector. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. If Red brake warning light is no longer on, replace brake switch. Perform TEST VER-1A. If warning light is still on, go to next step.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 37-pin connector. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Turn ignition on. If Red brake warning light is still on, repair short to ground in Gray/Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If light is no longer on, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
