Test 31A - Correcting Inoperative LTCS Amber Warning Lamp

NOTE: DRB must not be in TEVES ABS DIAGNOSTIC mode while road testing vehicle.
  1. Using DRB, back out of TEVES ABS DIAGNOSTICS. Verify proper operation of LTCS. If LTCS does not engage when selected, go to TEST 29A. If LTCS engages, go to next step.
  2. If LTCS warning light glows with traction control not selected, go to TEST 31B. If light does not glow, go to next step.
  3. Using DRB, actuate TRAC CTL WARN LAMP. If traction control warning light flashes, system is operating properly at this time. Perform TEST VER-1A. If light does not flash, go to next step.
  4. Inspect fuse No. 14. See Figure. If fuse is open, repair short to ground in fused ignition feed wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect message center connector. See Figure. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Inspect traction control warning light bulb. If bulb is faulty, replace bulb. Perform TEST VER-1A. If bulb is okay, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition on. Using DRB, check voltage on Dark Blue/White wire at message center connector terminal No. 4. If reading is less than 9 volts, repair open in Dark Blue/White wire to message center. Perform TEST VER-1A. If reading is more than 9 volts, go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition off. Reconnect message center connector. Disconnect CAB 37-pin connector. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Turn ignition on. Connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and CAB connector terminal No. 4 (Light Blue/Black wire). If traction control warning light does not glow, repair open in Light Blue/Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If light glows, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
