Test 18A - Pump Motor Running Without Command

NOTE:

- Turn ignition off. Disconnect pump/motor relay connector. See Figure. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Disconnect CAB 37-pin connector. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Using DRB, check resistance of CAB connector terminal No. 3 (Gray wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Gray wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Turn ignition on. Using DRB, check voltage on Brown/White wire at pump/motor relay connector terminal "C". If any voltage is present, repair short to battery in Brown/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If no voltage exists, go to next step.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check continuity between pump/motor relay terminals. See Fig 1. If continuity exists, replace pump/motor relay. Perform TEST VER-1A. If continuity does not exist, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
