Test 17D - Pump Motor Circuit Not Working Properly

  1. Disconnect pump/motor connector. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Using DRB, actuate MOTOR PUMP. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Using DRB, check voltage on Brown/White wire at pump/motor female connector terminal No. 2. See Figure. If less than 9 volts is present when relay energizes, repair open in Brown/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If more than 9 volts are present when relay energizes, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, stop MOTOR PUMP actuation. Turn ignition off. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Using DRB, check resistance of Black wire at pump/motor female connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Inspect pump/motor connectors and wiring harness. If connectors and harness are okay, replace pump/motor assembly. Perform TEST VER-1A. If connectors or harness are faulty, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A.
