Blank DRB Screen

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect DRB from data link connector. Using an external voltmeter, check voltage at data link connector Pink wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to step 3).
  2. If voltage is less than 10 volts, remove fuse No. 13 from fuse/relay block (located behind end cover at left side of instrument panel). Replace fuse if blown. If fuse blows, repair data link connector battery feed circuit for a short to ground.
  3. Using an external ohmmeter, check Black/Light Green (ground) wire resistance. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open data link connector ground wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Substitute DRB cable with a known good cable. If DRB screen is no longer blank, DRB and cable are functioning properly. If DRB screen is still blank, go to next step.
  5. Substitute DRB diagnostic program cartridge with a known good cartridge. If DRB screen is no longer blank, DRB and cartridge are functioning properly. If DRB screen is still blank, replace defective DRB.
