A/C System Performance

- Park vehicle out of direct sunlight. Ambient air and vehicle temperatures must be greater than 70°F (21°C). Ensure ambient air temperature reading agrees with overhead console temperature display (if equipped). If temperature difference is significant, A/C system performance results could be affected. Install a tachometer and compressor manifold gauge set. Start engine and allow it to run at 1000 RPM with A/C turned off.
- Close all vehicle doors and windows. After initial compressor cycling, turn A/C on and hold engine at 1000 RPM. Turn mode door selector to RECIRCULATION position. Turn temperature selector to full cold position. Turn fan control switch to high blower position. System is okay if temperature and system pressures are as specified.
