Test NS-6C - Correcting No Response Condition

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Plymouth Acclaim and 1994 Dodge Spirit. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: For circuit and connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION DIRECTORY TABLE  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  1. Inspect fusible links located in engine compartment near left strut tower. If vehicle is an AS body, inspect ENG fuse in Power Distribution Center (PDC). Go to next step.
  2. If fusible links or ENG fuse is not blown, repair open in PCM terminal No. 3 (Red/White wire). Perform TEST VER-1. If fusible links or ENG fuse is blown, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM connector. Disconnect ASD relay and fuel pump relay. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Using DRB, check resistance on PCM connector terminal No. 3 (Red/White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1.
  4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, using DRB, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to TEST NS-6D. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect ignition coil connector. Using DRB, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace ignition coil. Perform TEST VER-1.
  5. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect generator field connector. Using DRB, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in generator. Perform TEST VER-1  .
  6. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect fuel injector harness connector. Using DRB, check resistance of ASD relay connector terminal "D" (Dark Green/Orange wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in fuel injector harness. Perform TEST VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/Orange wire between ASD relay connector and fuel injector harness. Perform TEST VER-1.
