Driver-Side Air Bag Module & Steering Wheel: Removal

Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
Driver-side air bag module is mounted on face of steering wheel. See Fig 1 . Position wheels in straight ahead position. Rotate steering wheel half turn (180 degrees) to right (clockwise), and lock steering wheel. Remove cruise control switches (if equipped) or covers from steering wheel back shroud, and disconnect wires.
Remove 2 bolts attaching air bag module to steering wheel. Lift air bag module and disconnect electrical connectors. Remove air bag module. Using Puller (C3428B), remove steering wheel.
