Ignition Switch: Installation

  1. Ensure gear select lever is in Park position. Connect ignition switch wiring, ensuring connection lock tabs are secure. Ensure park lock dowel pin and column lock flag are properly indexed before installing switch. See Fig 1 .
  2. Column lock flag is in proper position when flag is parallel to lower ignition switch terminals. Install ignition switch into steering column, and ensure park lock dowel pin enters into slot in slider linkage inside column housing. Tighten mounting screws to 17 INCH lbs. (2 N.m). To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
