Test 13A: Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  1. Using DRB, read fault messages. If DRB displays RR WSS CONTINUITY fault, go to TEST 14A. If DRB does not display RR WSS CONTINUITY fault, go to next step.
  2. Inspect right rear Wheel Speed Sensor (WSS) for damage. If right rear WSS is damaged, replace right rear WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If right rear WSS is okay, go to next step.
  3. Inspect right rear tone wheel for damage (chipping or cracking). If tone wheel is damaged, replace tone wheel. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If tone wheel is okay, go to next step.
  4. Ensure ignition is off. On AA, AJ and AP bodies, access right rear WSS 2-pin connector by removing rear seat from vehicle and pulling carpeting back to expose connector. On AS body, access right rear WSS 2-pin connector by removing right rear trim panel. On all models, disconnect right rear WSS 2-pin connector. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between right rear WSS male connector terminals. If resistance is not 1000-4000 ohms, replace right rear WSS. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is 1000-4000 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Inspect condition of ABS wiring harness between Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB) and right rear WSS. If ABS wiring harness is damaged, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If ABS wiring harness is okay, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
