Test 10F: Pump/Motor Circuit
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1994 Plymouth Sundance, 1994 Plymouth Acclaim, 1994 Dodge Spirit, 1994 Dodge Shadow, and 1994 Chrysler LeBaron. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- On AA and AP bodies, remove pump/motor Gray fusible link, located near brake master cylinder. On AJ body, remove pump/motor fuse No. 48, located in Power Distribution Center (PDC). On AS body, remove ABS PUMP/MOTOR fuse, located in Power Distribution Center (PDC). On all models, turn ignition off. Remove pump/motor relay. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Using DRB, check resistance of Red/Dark Green wire at pump/motor relay connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/Dark Green wire. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Disconnect modulator 10-pin connector. Modulator assembly is located under battery tray. Using DRB, check resistance of Brown/White wire at pump/motor relay connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown/White wire. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect ABS relay and CAB 60-pin connector. See Figure. Using DRB, check resistance of Red/Light Blue wire at pump/motor relay connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/Light Blue wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Replace ABS PUMP/MOTOR fuse or fuse No. 48 or Gray fusible link. Reconnect all disconnected connectors. Using DRB, actuate MOTOR PUMP. Check ABS PUMP/MOTOR fuse or fuse No. 48 or Gray fusible link. If fuse or fusible link is open, replace modulator assembly. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST . If fuse or fusible link is okay, pump/motor circuit is operating properly at this time. Perform TEST VER-1A: SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST .
