Removal & Installation

Raise vehicle, and remove wheel and tire assembly. Remove sensor-to-fender shield screw and clip. Carefully pull sensor assembly grommet from fender shield. Unplug connector from harness. Remove retainer clip from bracket on strut. Remove grommets from retainer brackets.
Remove sensor retaining screw. Carefully remove sensor from steering knuckle. DO NOT use pliers. If sensor is frozen, use a hammer and punch to lightly tap edge of sensor ear, rocking sensor from side to side until free.
CAUTION: Proper installation of wheel speed sensor cables is critical to continued operation of system. Ensure cables are installed in retainers. Failure to install cables in retainers may cause contact with moving parts and/or over-extension of cables, resulting in open circuit.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Coat sensor with high-temperature multipurpose grease before installing. Tighten sensor screw to 60 INCH lbs. (7 N.m). There is no air gap adjustment.
