Od (Overdrive) Off Switch: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove ash tray. Remove screw and the center cluster bezel. See Figure . Remove the 2 screws retaining the dash pad located behind the center cluster bezel.
  2. Pry defroster grill from the dash pad. Disconnect electrical connectors from auto headlight and solar sensors (if equipped). See Figure . Remove defroster grille. Remove screws from defroster grill opening that retains dash pad to the instrument panel.
  3. Remove dash pad screws from the instrument panel cluster, above the speedometer. Remove dash pad screws from inside of glove box.
  4. Pull dash pad upward to disengage from clips at each end of dash pad. Remove lower cover from the steering column. Remove driver's side lower trim panel, located near the steering column. See Figure .
  5. Remove screws and knee blocker. Remove steering column-to-instrument panel nuts. Remove screws from both sides of switch pod bezel.
  6. Pull switch pod bezel outward and disconnect electrical connectors from switch pods. Remove switch pod bezel. Remove screws and right switch pod with OD OFF switch.
