Pre-Diagnostic Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Most system faults result from faulty wiring, poor electrical connections or improper wire routing. Check all brakes to verify no drag exists. Check speed sensors for correct mounting and alignment. Verify all wheel bearings are not worn or causing wheel wobble. Ensure all tires are in good condition, properly inflated, and same size. After performing pre-diagnostic inspection, go to TEST 1A - CHECKING SYSTEM FOR DTCS  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
