Air Bag System Diagnostic Module (ASDM)

ASDM is located behind center console, at center of instrument panel. See Fig 1 .
The ASDM monitors critical input and output circuits within the air bag system, making sure they are operating correctly. Some circuits are tested continuously; others are checked only under certain conditions. The ASDM provides information about the air bag system through the AIR BAG warning light and ASDM data link connector. A fault code (message) is stored whenever AIR BAG warning light stays on, or if light is activated for 12 seconds or more.
