Front Clutch: Disassembly

- Remove waved snap ring, pressure plate, clutch discs and clutch plates. See Fig 1 . Note number of clutch discs and plates, as some models may contain different number of clutch components.
- Using spring compressor, compress piston springs. Remove snap ring. Release spring compressor. Remove spring compressor and spring retainer.CAUTION: Note number of piston springs and location for reassembly reference.
- Remove piston springs and clutch piston from front clutch retainer. Remove and discard piston seals.
- Inspect bushing in front clutch retainer for damage. If replacing bushing, position front clutch retainer with clutch plate opening facing downward. Using hammer and bushing remover, remove bushing.
