Test 64C - Diagnosing No Chime With Seat Belt Unbuckled

IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ensure key is in ignition and left front door is closed. Unbuckle driver's seat belt. Turn ignition switch to ON position, engine off. If chime sounds, system is okay at this time. If chime does not sound, go to next step.
- Using DRB, read seat belt switch status. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT : CLOSED, go to next step. If DRB displays SEATBELT : CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM).
- Disconnect seat belt switch connector. Seat belt switch is located in center console. Connect a jumper wire between seat belt switch connector Light Green/Red and Black/Orange wires. If DRB displays SEAT BELT : CLOSED, replace seat belt switch. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between seat belt switch connector Light Green/Red wire and ground. If DRB displays SEAT BELT : CLOSED, repair open Black/Orange wire. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Gain access to BCM. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connector and clean or repair connector as necessary. Connect a jumper wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 3 (Light Green/Red wire) and ground. If DRB displays SEAT BELT : CLOSED, repair open Light Green/Red wire. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT : CLOSED, replace BCM.
