Test 64A - Repairing No Chime With Headlamps On

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove key from ignition. Turn headlamps on and open left door. Using DRB, read headlamps status. If DRB displays HEADLAMPS: ON, go to step 3). If DRB does not display HEADLAMPS : ON, go to next step.
  2. Turn headlamps off. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Natural connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connector and clean or repair connector as necessary. Turn headlamps on. Put DRB in voltmeter mode. Measure voltage at BCM Natural connector terminal No. 16 (Brown wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Brown wire.
  3. If DRB displays HEADLAMPS : ON in step 1), ensure left front door is open. Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display LF DOOR AJAR : CLOSED, go to TEST 65A. If DRB displays LF DOOR AJAR : CLOSED, replace BCM.
