Test 63C - Repairing Chime With Seat Belt Buckled

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Buckle driver's seat belt. Turn ignition switch to ON position, engine off. If chime does not sound, system is okay at this time. If chime sounds, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, read seat belt switch status. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT : CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). If DRB displays SEAT BELT : CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect seat belt switch connector. Seat belt switch is located in center console. Using DRB, read seat belt switch status. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT : CLOSED, replace seat belt switch. If DRB displays SEAT BELT : CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect BCM Black connector. Body controller is located behind right side kick panel. Check condition of connector and clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at BCM Black connector terminal No. 3 (Light Green/Red wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Green/Red wire.
