Test 60C - Repairing Short To Ground In Seat Belt Lamp

IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If seat belt warning lamp is off, replace BCM. If seat belt warning lamp is on, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster Red connector. Check connector condition and clean or repair connector as necessary. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at instrument cluster Red connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Dark Blue/Red wire for short to ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace mechanical instrument cluster.
