Test 51A - Courtesy Lamp On At All Times

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Ensure all doors are closed. Using DRB, read left door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display LF DOOR AJAR : OPEN, go to TEST 65A. If DRB displays LF DOOR AJAR : OPEN, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, read right door ajar switch status. If DRB does not display RF DOOR AJAR : OPEN, go to TEST 66B. If DRB displays RF DOOR AJAR : OPEN, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. Disconnect BCM. If courtesy lamps do not stay on all the time, replace BCM. If courtesy lamps stay on all the time, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect left pod switch connector. See Figure . Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If courtesy lamps do not stay on all the time, replace left pod switch. If courtesy lamps stay on, repair short to ground in courtesy lamp control circuit (Yellow wire).
