Test SC-1B - Checking Speed Control Operation

NOTE:
Perform TEST SC-1A - CHECKING SPEED CONTROL OPERATION before proceeding.
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate speed control vent solenoid. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on speed control power supply circuit at speed control servo connector. See SPEED CONTROL SERVO CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION table. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to TEST SC-1D - CHECKING SPEED CONTROL OPERATION .SPEED CONTROL SERVO CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION
Application Wire Color Speed Control Vacuum Solenoid Control Circuit JA Body White/Violet Speed Control Vent Solenoid Control Circuit JA Body Light Green/Red Switched Speed Control Power Supply Circuit JA Body Dark Blue/Red Speed Control Ground Circuit JA Body Black - Reconnect speed control servo connector. Start engine. Allow engine to idle for one minute. Turn engine off. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, actuate speed control servo solenoids. If throttle opens and closes, go to TEST SC-6A - CHECKING FOR A SPEED CONTROL DENIED MESSAGE . If throttle does not open and close, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect vacuum supply from speed control servo. Attach a vacuum gauge to disconnected vacuum hose. Start engine. If vacuum gauge reads manifold vacuum, go to next step. If vacuum gauge does not read manifold vacuum, repair vacuum supply hose for a leak or restriction. Perform TEST SC-VER - SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION .
- Turn engine off. Observe vacuum gauge for 10 seconds. If vacuum holds for at least 10 seconds, go to TEST SC-1C - CHECKING SPEED CONTROL OPERATION . If vacuum does not hold for at least 10 seconds, replace vacuum reservoir. Perform TEST SC-VER - SPEED CONTROL VERIFICATION .
