Stoplight Switch

  1. Move brake pedal forward by hand until free play is taken up. If clearance between stoplight switch plunger and brake pedal is 1/8" (3 mm) and stoplight functions properly, no adjustment is needed.
  2. If adjustment is necessary, press brake pedal forward by hand. Push stoplight switch forward in mounting bracket as far as possible. Grasp brake pedal, pull it rearward until it stops, then release it. Switch plunger barrel will ratchet rearward in retaining clip to correct position. Recheck clearance and stoplight switch operation.
