Oil Pressure Indicator Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Indicator light should come on. Start engine. If light does not go out, go to next step. If light does go out, system is functioning.
- Unplug connector at oil pressure switch. Install jumper wire from connector to ground. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Light should go on. Unplug jumper wire. If light goes out, replace oil pressure switch. If light does not go out, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove instrument cluster bezel and cluster assembly.Install a jumper wire from cavity B7 of cluster connector "A" to ground. Connect negative battery cable and turn ignition switch to ON position. If light goes on, go to next step. If light does not go on, replace bulb.
- Turn ignition to OFF position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Unplug instrument cluster connector "A". Check continuity between cavity B7 of cluster connector "A" and ground. If there is no continuity, go to next step. If there is continuity, repair short in circuit.
- Check continuity between cavity B7 of cluster connector "A" and oil pressure switch connector. If there is continuity, circuit is good. If no continuity, repair open in circuit.
