Installation (Grand Wagoneer)

  1. Pack axle bearing with grease. Apply wheel bearing grease to axle shaft inner and outer seals. Install new inner seal in tube. Install seal retainer and outer seal on axle shaft. Press axle bearing and new retainer on axle shaft.
  2. Place axle in tube. DO NOT  damage seals. Position seal retainer and brake support plate on studs. Install new nuts and tighten to 32 ft. lbs. (43 N.m). Install brake drum and wheel. Tighten lug nuts.
    NOTE: On vehicles with Trac-Lok (limited slip) differentials, slowly drive vehicle in 10-12 "figure 8" patterns.
