Timing Chain & Sprocket: Removal

  1. Drain cooling system. Remove radiator. Remove engine front cover. See ENGINE FRONT COVER in this article. Remove oil slinger. Rotate crankshaft until timing marks on sprockets are aligned. See Figure.
  2. Remove camshaft sprocket bolt. Remove timing chain and both sprockets as an assembly.
