Disassembly & Inspection

Disassemble pump. Inspect for wear or damage. Using feeler gauge, measure gear-to-body clearance. Rotate gears and measure each tooth-to-body clearance. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS  table. Replace oil pump if not within specification.

CAUTION: If oil pressure relief valve is replaced, ensure replacement valve is the same diameter as that removed. Different diameter valves may be used.
