Valve Guide Inspection

Measure valve guides as described in ENGINE OVERHAUL PROCEDURES article in this section. If measurement exceeds .003" (.08 mm), ream valve guide for installation of valve with oversize stem. Replacement valves are available in .003" (.08 mm), .015" (.13 mm) and .030" (.76 mm) oversize stems.
