Valve Spring: Installation

  1. Use a 7/16" deep-well socket and light hammer to gently tap valve stem seal into place on valve stem. Ensure sharp edges of valve lock groove do not damage oil seal during installation. Install valve spring and retainer. Compress spring with valve spring compressor and install locks.
  2. Tap each valve spring from side-to-side to ensure spring is seated properly. Relieve air pressure and remove adapter. Install remaining components in reverse order of removal.
