Rear Hub Bearings & Seal - J20 Pickup: Removal

  1. Remove axle shaft attaching nuts, lock washers, and cone washers. Remove axle shaft and gasket. Discard gasket. Straighten lip of lock washer. Remove lock nut and lock washer. Raise vehicle and support with safety stands.
  2. Support wheel and drum assembly. Remove bearing adjustment nut. Carefully remove wheel and drum assembly. Outer hub bearing will slide out as assembly is being removed. Remove seal and inner hub bearing.
