Rear Hub Bearings - J20 Pickup

Remove axle shaft attaching nuts, lock washers, and cone washers. Remove axle shaft and gasket. Discard gasket. Straighten lip of lock washer. Remove lock nut and lock washer. Raise vehicle and support with safety stands.
Rotate wheel assembly and tighten adjustment nut to 50 ft. lbs. (68 N.m). Back off adjustment nut 1/6 turn or until wheel assembly rotates freely and without side-to-side movement.
Install and tighten lock nut to 50 ft. lbs. (68 N.m). Bend lock washer lip over lock nut. Check bearing adjustment and correct if necessary. Install gasket and axle shaft. Install cone washers, lock washers, and nuts. Lower vehicle.
