Axle Shaft End Play - CJ & Scrambler

1. Strike ends of axle shafts with lead hammer to seat bearing cups against support plates. Install Axle Shaft End Play Measurement Bar (J-2092) onto axle shaft. See Fig 1 .
2. Mount dial indicator on support plate or on bar. Measure end play while pushing and pulling on axle shaft. End play should be .004-.008" (0.10-0.20 mm). Adjust end play by removing or adding shims as necessary.
