Temperature Gauges

  1. To test accuracy of temperature gauge, use tester (J 24538). Disconnect wire from sending unit. Connect one lead of tester to ground and other lead to sending unit wire. Compare results with specifications shown in temperature sending unit resistances table.
  2. If within specifications, measure resistance across terminal test points on temperature gauge as listed in fuel gauge resistances (internal) table. Compare results with specifications shown in table.
