Pressure Test Diagnosis

  1. If line pressure is normal (minimum to maximum) in any one test, pump and pressure regulator are working properly.
  2. If line pressure is normal in "R" but low in "D", "2" and "1", rear clutch circuit leakage is indicated (servo, clutch seals or governor support seal rings).
  3. Normal line pressure in "1" with low pressure in "D" and "R" indicates leakage in front clutch area (servo, clutch seals, retainer bore or pump seals).
  4. Normal pressure in "2" with low pressure in "R" and "1" indicates leakage in rear servo circuit.
  5. Low pressure in all positions means defective pump, clogged filter or stuck pressure regulator valve.
