Pressure Test (Selector in "D")

  1. Attach 0-100 psi gauges to line and front servo release ports. Operate engine at 1600 RPM for test. Move selector lever on transmission 2 detents rearward from full forward position ("D" position).
  2. Read pressures on both gauges as throttle lever on transmission is moved from full forward position to full rearward position. Line pressure should read 54-60 psi (3.8-4.2 kg/cm2 ) with throttle lever forward and should gradually increase as lever is moved rearward.
  3. Front servo release is pressurized only in direct drive and should be within 3 psi (.2 kg/cm2 ) of line pressure up to downshift point. This test measures pump output, pressure regulation, and condition of front, rear and lock-up clutch hydraulic circuits.
