Valve Body Assembly & Accumulator Piston: Removal

  1. Loosen oil pan bolts. Drain fluid by tapping on pan to break it loose. Remove oil pan. Loosen clamp bolts. Remove levers. Remove neutral safety switch. While holding valve body in position, remove bolts holding valve body to transmission case. Move valve body down and forward to remove.
  2. Rotate propeller shaft to align parking gear. Move sprag to allow knob on end of control rod to pass sprag. Remove accumulator piston and spring from case. Inspect parts for wear or damage. Replace as needed.
