Valve Body Inspection

  1. Wash parts in solvent. Dry with compressed air. Inspect all parts for nicks, burrs, scratches or distortion. Remove small nicks or burrs with crocus cloth.
  2. DO NOT round off any sharp machined edges. Ensure all passages are clean and free of obstructions. All metering holes in steel plate and valve body must be open. Inserting a 1/32" drill bit into 1-2 orifice, check that it is clear. Inspect springs for distortion or collapsed coils.
  3. Inspect manual and throttle valve operating levers and shafts. If bent, worn, or loose, replace. DO NOT attempt to straighten bent levers. Valves and plugs should fall freely into bores.
