Reassembly (727 Model)
- Clean all burrs and chips from case. Screw 2 pilot studs into case. Position support over studs. Using soft mallet, tap firmly into place.
- Place spring retainer on cam. Ensure retainer lugs snap firmly into notches on cam. Position cam in case, aligning cam serrations with case grooves.
- Using soft mallet, tap cam evenly into case as far as possible. Using Cam Aligner and Adapter (C-3863-A and SP-5124), tighten nut on aligner to seat cam in case. Ensure cam is firmly bottomed in case.
- Install cam retaining set screw. Stake case around set screw. Remove aligner and pilot studs. Install and tighten support retaining bolts. Stake case around cam in 12 places with blunt chisel. See Fig 1 .
NOTE:
New parts are retained with bolts instead of rivets.
