Front Clutch: Disassembly

  1. Remove large waved snap ring securing pressure plate in clutch piston retainer. Snap ring may not be waved in 5 disc clutches. Lift out pressure plate and clutch plates. Compress spring retainer and springs.
  2. Remove snap ring. Release spring retainer until it is free from hub. Remove retainer and spring(s). On 727 model, note location and number of springs for reassembly reference. On all models, Remove clutch piston. Remove seals from piston and hub.
