A404, A413 & A470 TORQUEFLITE Transaxle: Installation

- To install, reverse removal procedures, and note the following:
- Prior to transaxle installation, place a straightedge across face of bell housing and measure distance from straightedge to torque converter face to ensure converter is fully seated. Distance should be 7/8" from bell housing face to converter mounting bolt flat.
- If a new or rebuilt transaxle is being installed, do not remove differential cover.
- Push axle shafts (with retaining rings installed) into differential. A slight force may be required to insert shafts into differential side gears.
- Adjust throttle and shift linkage as necessary. Fill transmission and differential sumps to correct level when installation is completed. See Automatic Transmission Servicing in this section.
