4-Cylinder Engine

  1. Shift transmission into Park position. Raise vehicle. Release cable adjuster clamp to unlock cable. Unsnap cable from bracket. Move transmission shift lever all the way rearward into Park detent on left side of case. Verify position by trying to turn drive shaft. Shaft will not turn in Park position.
  2. Snap cable into cable bracket. Push cable adjuster clamp down until it snaps into place. To check for proper adjustment, engine should only start in Park and Neutral. See Fig 1.
