6-Cylinder Engine

- Disconnect spring from throttle rod. Use spring to hold link forward, against nylon stop. On carbureted models, block choke open and release fast idle cam.
- On carburetors equipped with throttle operated solenoid valve, turn ignition on to energize solenoid. Open throttle halfway to allow solenoid to lock. Return throttle to idle position.
- Loosen retaining bolts on throttle rod. Hold throttle valve lever forward with spare spring. See Fig 1. Pull on end of link to eliminate all lash.
- Slide clamp rearward until throttle rod-to-clamp bolt bottoms against rear of slot in throttle rod. Tighten throttle rod retaining bolts. Remove spring from throttle valve lever. Remove throttle valve spring from link. Install throttle rod spring.
