- Start engine and let it warm to operating temperature. Adjust idle speed if necessary. Using gauge, check clearance between rear of cable actuating pin and end of slot in throttle pressure cable.
- Clearance should be .180" (4.57 mm). If clearance is okay, cable adjustment is correct. If clearance is not as specified, proceed to next step.
- Release cable lock pawl. Insert gauge between cable actuating pin and end of slot in cable. Slide cable forward or rearward to obtain specified clearance. Press cable lock pawl down until it snaps into locked position. Recheck clearance.
