Cherokee, Wagoneer, & "J" Series (1974)

Two different types of ignition switches are used, one for standard columns, one for Tilt column. The actuator rod moves down on standard columns, and up (toward steering wheel) on Tilt columns when ignition key is turned to "START" position. To remove, press main switch body toward instrument panel compressing spring until notched bezel is free to be turned counterclockwise releasing from off notch pins. Remove bezel and pull back main switch body releasing spring tension. Lower switch body from under instrument panel until wiring harness plug can be removed from prong connection.
