CJ & DJ (1972-74)

Instrument cluster is composed of speedometer housing, panel lights, high beam indicator, turn signal indicators, alternator and oil pressure warning lights, temperature gauge, and combination fuel gauge and constant voltage regulator (CVR). To remove cluster, disconnect one battery cable, disconnect speedometer cable and remove two attaching screws allowing heater control bracket to drop down. Remove four attaching nuts and pull cluster off mounting studs. Disconnect all necessary gauge wiring and lights and remove cluster assembly. To reinstall, reverse removal procedure. In event the connector link (between CVR and temperature gauge) has to be replaced, make suitable connector out of 16 gauge or larger insulated wire.
